All Children Smile in the Same Language

Hope Lutheran Early Education Center is a state-licensed, nonprofit ministry of Hope Lutheran Church, and a provider of early education and Before/After School care for children from 2 to 8 years old in the New Castle County and Colonial School District communities.

Our Program

Our state-licensed program consists of three areas of focus – Mind, Body and Soul – addressed through our academic curriculum, emphasis on health and nutrition, and bible study lessons for spiritual development.

Education

Spanish
Our goal is to foster a love of learning in each student. We work with parents to develop individualized education plans for their child. Our year-round thematic curriculum offers students many opportunities to explore their world through hands-on activities to learn about numbers, letters, shapes, colors, and more.

Nutrition

nuitrition
Feeding the body is especially important when you’re also feeding the mind. The nutritious and delicious items on our weekly menus are prepared onsite and cooked with love. And whether it is breakfast, lunch or a snack, we all eat together: family style!

Spirituality

spirituality
The Early Education Center is a nonprofit ministry of Hope Lutheran Church. From saying grace at meal times to reading bible stories to attending Monday morning chapel, our children are given opportunities to hear God’s word and learn about Jesus and His love for us all.

Proud to be awarded a Delaware Lt. Governor’s Challenge 2022 Wellness Hero

We’re proud to have received the Lt. Governor’s Challenge Delaware Wellness Hero Award, presented to us on Nov. 3, 2022, in recognition of our Cooking with Cori program. Cooking with Cori teaches children about nutrition, food, cooking, planting and many other details surrounding nutrition through a hands-on approach in the classroom. Corianna Weatherly, who runs Hope’s kitchen making breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks for all the children each day, handles the details of the Cooking with Cori program and gathers the materials to provide to the classroom teachers. The teachers then implement each new study, and the children learn and share the recipes and activities with their families. It’s a team effort! We thank Kathy Demarest, chairperson of HLEEC‘s board of directors, for submitting an entry on our behalf.
